James A. Hyde Chief Executive Officer and President
Mr. Hyde joined NTELOS as Chief Operating Officer and President on March 31, 2009 and was appointed to his current positions of Chief Executive Officer and President on December 17, 2009. Previously, he was employed by Deutsche Telekom and VoiceStream Wireless from 1997 to 2009 and was appointed as CEO and managing director of T-Mobile UK (a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom) in January 2006, and served as a member of the T-Mobile International Executive Management Committee and as an Executive Advisor to the T-Venture Funds. From 2002 until January 2006, Mr. Hyde served as vice president of U.S. Indirect Sales and Sales Operations for T-Mobile USA. In 2000, Mr. Hyde became executive director for U.S. sales operations for VoiceStream Wireless and, following Deutsche Telekom's July 2001 acquisition of VoiceStream (renamed T-Mobile), he held this position until 2002. He had joined VoiceStream Wireless in 1997 as a director of regional indirect sales and operations. Mr. Hyde currently serves on the board of directors of Rural Cellular Association.
Stebbins B. Chandor Jr. Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Secretary
Mr. Stebbins B. Chandor, Jr., joined NTELOS in August 2011 as Executive Vice President and became the Company’s Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Secretary on October 31, 2011, the effective date of the spin-off of the wireline business. Mr. Chandor served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of iPCS, Inc. (“iPCS”) from March 2004 to December 4, 2009, the closing date of Sprint Nextel Corporation’s acquisition of iPCS. Previously Mr. Chandor served in other executive management positions with iPCS and with Metro One Telecommunications, Inc. From June 1985 to August 1995, Mr. Chandor served in various corporate finance capacities with BA Securities, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of BankAmerica Corporation, and affiliated or predecessor firms.
Conrad J. Hunter Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer
Conrad Hunter Joined NTELOS on April 12, 2010 as Executive Vice President, President – Wireless. Previously, Mr. Hunter was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for iPCS Wireless since August 2007. From February 2000 until July 2007, Mr. Hunter was a Vice President of United States Cellular Corporation, most recently Vice President—Midwest Operations. Prior to joining United States Cellular Corporation, Mr. Hunter was Vice President and General Manager of the Virginia region of PrimeCo PCS, which was acquired by NTELOS in 2000.
Craig Highland Senior Vice President, Finance and Corporate Development
Mr. Craig Highland joined NTELOS in 1998 as Manager- Federal Tax and was promoted to VP Tax Policy and Corporate Development in September 2003. Mr. Highland was subsequently promoted to Senior Vice President, Finance and Corporate Development on October 31, 2011, the effective date of the spin-off of the wireline business. Prior to joining NTELOS, Mr. Highland was a certified public accountant serving as a Tax and Audit Manager for McGladrey & Pullen, L.L.P. from December 1993 to July 1998 and with Erny & Mason, P.C. from July 1988 to December 1993. Mr. Highland received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Radford University in 1988.
Robert L. McAvoy Jr. Senior Vice President, Engineering and Operations
Robert L. McAvoy Jr. joined NTELOS in July, 2001 as Vice President of Network Operations and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Operations. Mr. McAvoy has 25 years of wireless industry experience. He began his career in 1988 with Bell Atlantic Mobile Systems in the Baltimore / Washington area, and during his tenure there he served in various engineering and operations roles. In 1995, he joined PrimeCo Personal Communications as part of the management startup team for the Richmond and Norfolk, Virginia markets. While at PrimeCo he held various management positions, including Technical Director and Market General Manager. Mr. McAvoy is a 1987 graduate of RETS Technical School in Baltimore, Maryland.
Brian J. O’Neil General Counsel and Secretary
Mr. O’Neil joined NTELOS in August 2011 and became the NTELOS Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of the Company’s wireless business, effective upon the spin-off of the Company’s wireline business into an independent, publicly traded company. Prior to joining NTELOS, Mr. O'Neil was the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of iPCS, Inc., a publicly-traded wireless telecommunications company acquired by Sprint Nextel Corporation in late 2009. Prior to his tenure at iPCS, Mr. O’Neil worked in the office of the general counsel at Accenture Ltd (now Accenture plc), a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company from August 2001 to August 2008. From 1994 until 2001, Mr. O'Neil was a partner in the corporate and securities practice at the law firm of Schwartz Cooper Chartered (now Dykema) in Chicago, Illinois, and from 1986 until 1994, he practiced in the corporate finance group at the law firm of Chapman and Cutler LLP in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. O’Neil received his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, California and his undergraduate degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois.
